Karate Classes
Kinder Karate (Ages 4-6)
This class is designed for younger children. Through songs, drills, and exercises, we help develop balance, coordination, self-discipline, and motor skills. The structure of this class enhances attention span, self-confidence, and teamwork while introducing the basics of karate, the Japanese language, and culture.
Kids Karate (Ages 7-12)
This class combines individual and group training to develop balance, coordination, physical ability, self-confidence, and endurance. Traditional Okinawan Shorin-Ryu Karate basics, kata forms, self-defense, and kumite are taught, along with the Japanese language and culture.
Adult Co-Ed Karate (Ages 13+)
This structured class allows students to train at their own level and pace. We focus on self-defense, self-confidence, self-discipline, fitness, and stress reduction. Karate basics, kata forms, and kumite are emphasized, along with traditional methods of self-defense.
Kobudo (Okinawan Weapons Training)
In addition to traditional karate training, we offer instruction in Okinawan kobudo (the art of ancient weapons). Students train in the use of bo, tuifa (tonfa), sai, kama, and nunchaku during scheduled kobudo classes.
Judo
Once a month, students have the opportunity to practice judo. This special class is taught by our guest judo instructor, Sensei Steve Brown.
